Supercharged 6.2L Hemi V8 In The Works

Over the last few months we have seen a couple Challenger's with camo over the front end, these Challenger's are more than likely testing out the new Supercharger 6.2L Hemi v8 that is in the works. Along with the Challenger this engine is rumored to be the power plant for the upcoming SRT Cuda. The "Hellcat" as its being called is Chrysler's first ever production supercharged engine and is reportedly going to push out anywhere from 600-640 horsepower. This engine will probably begin production somewhere around summer time next year, and that's a good thing. The Challenger is do for a refresh for its 2015 model year, hopefully Chrysler decides its good for the Challenger to go on a diet. The current Challenger ways in at 4200 lbs, more than Chevy's Camaro and Fords Mustang. A slimmer Challenger and a supercharged engine could be exactly what Chrysler needs to win the muscle car war.
